FEDERAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
TRUSTEES-CLARIFICATION

***************************
The following information provided by
Alan Maher-Federal Football League Secretary
Federal Football League
Trustee - Secretary/Treasurer
when the League entered into recess in 1981
clearly clarifies the League's position
at that time as it does the actions
of the League's Trustees post 1982

*******************
It should also dispel for all time the
inaccuracies, rumours, and myths of
"whatever happened to the
Federal League funds"
falsely rumoured to amount to
many thousands of dollars held in
a Commonwealth Bank account

In 1982 the Federal League Trustees
 EF Wadddell-Chairman
AJ Maher-Secretary/Treasurer
DE Molloy
A Goodes

called an open meeting at which a Federal Superules team under the auspices of the Federal League Trustees
was formed to later affiliate with the
Victorian Metropolitan Superules Football League
thereby ensuring the continuation of
the Federal League as an entity
in its own right while in recess.

No monies other than affiliation and associated
establishment costs were ever expended by
the Trustees on the Federal Superules team
which was totally self funded

In the early eighties Mentone Football Club
instigated legal action against the Trustees
for the release/distribution of
Federal League funds held in Trust.

After a lengthy and protracted hearing the court
ruled in favour of the Trustees declaring their
actions to be entirely in keeping with their
responsibility as Trustees.

However when handing down its decision
the court also ruled that all costs
associated with the court hearing
be met from the Trust resulting in the
decimation of the Leagues Trust Fund.
